I think our ability to shoot down satellites is very cool. It shows we may have a chance of defending ourselves when the space aliens invade
I am hiring for several roles at GridPoint’s world headquarters in Arlington, VA. GridPoint is a small company that is trying to make a big difference. Our mission is to revolutionize the way people think about and use electricity.
Embedded Software Engineer. Embedded experience is a plus but good overall software development experience is most important. This position will build the client portion of our client/server system. We use Microsoft development tools, C/C++, and WinCE.
Software Engineers at all levels. Build our servers and web apps. We use Microsoft .Net and C#.
Configuration Management Specialist. We’re looking for someone with experience managing releases across teams including hardware/software development, QA, manufacturing, contract manufacturers, component suppliers and OEM partners.
Systems Engineer and Power Electronics Engineer. Help us design and build our energy management hardware.
Free snacks, drinks, and espresso at our office in 2801 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA.
If you are interested in any of these, send me an email or go to monster.com and search for GridPoint. You can apply formally there.
I have been with GridPoint for a month and feel like I am slowly becoming productive. The great team, a mission I care about and a startup environment make for a lot of fun. We are fortunate enough to have money in the bank. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us before we can claim success.
There have been a couple of mentions in the press about us recently. Just today, I saw this article. It shows how a consumer can use a GridPoint product to integrate renewable energy into their household

The second is a video interview by Forbes magazine with our CEO, Peter Corsell. Sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to embed this video.

I am excited to tell you about GridPoint, the company I will join in January as VP of Engineering. GridPoint was founded in 2003 to help the electric industry manage renewable energy sources and increase energy efficiency in homes and businesses. Today, they are focused on products that help electric utilities build and manage the “smart grid”. The smart grid is the next-gen electric grid that can be managed as a network of intelligent devices. GridPoint’s products will help electric utilities and consumers cut energy costs and reduce the environmental impact of producing energy. They have an honorable mission that I will be proud to embrace.
It is no secret that clean tech companies are hot with investors now. GridPoint is no exception. They have raised over $80MM in investments. $48MM of it was raised in October. They have won a number of awards as well. Here are links to some of them:
